Worthing Plumbers ("we", "us", "our") provides this website at worthingplumbers.co.uk. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our online quote tool or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible for your data
Worthing Plumbers is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us via our contact page with any privacy question, including the requests listed under "Your rights" below.
What we collect
Our online quote tool asks a small number of non-personal questions about your problem (problem type and urgency) followed by four personal details so we can respond to your enquiry:
- Name - so we know who we're speaking with.
- Email address - so we can reply to your enquiry in writing if you prefer.
- Phone number - so we can call you back about your enquiry.
- Postcode - so we can confirm we cover your area and give a locally relevant answer.
We do not collect payment details, and we do not use cookies or analytics tracking scripts to profile visitors on this site beyond standard, aggregate traffic measurement tools that may be added from time to time (see "Analytics" below).
How we use it
We use the details you provide only to handle the specific plumbing enquiry you've submitted:
- responding to your enquiry and discussing the plumbing work you're interested in;
- arranging a call-out, quote or follow-up call, and any further steps you've asked for as part of that enquiry;
- keeping a record of the enquiry so we can follow up appropriately.
We do not use your details for any other purpose. Unrelated marketing would need a separate permission from you and its own lawful basis - we do not send it on the strength of an enquiry alone. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal basis
We process your enquiry details on the basis of legitimate interest - responding to a request you've actively made through our quote form - and, where a survey or contract discussion follows, in preparation for a potential contract with you.
Where your data is stored
Quote form submissions are sent securely to a Google Sheets-based enquiry log via Google's infrastructure (Google Apps Script), which acts as our data processor for this purpose. Google may process this data outside the UK/EEA under its own standard data protection safeguards. We do not share your details with any other third party, other than a tradesperson or contractor who needs them to help handle your specific enquiry - for example, to arrange or carry out a requested survey.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for 12 months after our last contact with you about your enquiry, unless a resulting contract, ongoing work or a legal obligation requires us to keep them for longer. After that period they are deleted from our enquiry log. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time - see "Your rights" below for how deletion requests are handled.
Analytics
We may use aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Google Search Console) to understand how visitors use this site, so we can improve it. These tools do not identify you personally from a quote form submission.
Google Maps
Our contact page shows a static map image. Google Maps loads only after you choose to view the map, and only then does Google receive data such as your IP address. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and to ask us to delete it. To make any of these requests, contact us via our contact page. Deletion requests are actioned by removing your entry from our enquiry log, and we'll deal with your request promptly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site or our data practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
